A Chruch That is recovery
"I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciple, if you have love for one another."
Jesus, John 13:34-35
"Bear one another's burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ…So let us not grow weary in doing what is right, for we will reap at harvest-time, if we do not give up. So then, whenever we have an opportunity, let us work for the good of all, and especially for those of the family of faith."
St. Paul, Galatians 6:2,9-10
St. Mary the Protectress offers encouragement, practical support and prayer to people in need.
Jesus was very clear that a significant part of our ministry for Him was to care for one another in love. For that reason, St. Mary's is intentional about offering ministries to meet the needs--spiritual, emotional, physical, and relational - - of all that God brings our way. St. Mary's seeks to fulfill Jesus' command.
That is why St. Mary's is expanding our recovery ministries. It includes Christian 12-Step classes, support groups, and individual spiritual direction and guidance. Our higher power is our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
This is more than a church that understands recovery, this is a church that is recovery. Our pastor has a friend whose name is Bill. Bill is a friend of most of us.
We know the life hurts. But we also know and believe that God heals.
